SATURATED SOLACE

KATIE DAVIS +

JENNIFER NICOLE MURRAY

OPENING: FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3, 5 P.M. TO 7 P.M.

ON VIEW: OCTOBER 4 - 31

Saturated Solace brings together the work of Katie Davis and Jennifer Nicole Murray, two Columbus artists who explore domesticity through rich color and playful yet contemplative compositions.

Katie Davis’ mixed media paintings and installations draw on vintage textiles, household fabrics, and even personal items like her son’s pajama pants to infuse the work with a sense of home, safety, and care. Each piece explores the idea of portals—images nested within themselves that open to other dimensions—while mythological figures like two-headed cats and three-eyed deer serve as guardians of these thresholds. Hovering between abstraction and representation, Davis ties her tactile materials to an interest in physics and spirituality, evoking play, whimsy, and magic.

Jennifer Nicole Murray’s paintings turn inward, capturing moments of domestic life through self-portraiture entwined with partners and shared space. Her layered compositions invite viewers into intimate, often tender glimpses of cohabitation, where vulnerability and everyday objects become equally significant.

Together, Davis and Murray create a dialogue between the tactile world of objects and the emotional landscapes of home.
