INTERNAL GARDEN

AMBER GROOME

OPENING: WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12, 5:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.

ON VIEW: AUGUST 13 - 29

Internal Garden invites viewers into the rich and ever-shifting landscape of the inner self. Through painting, Amber Groome transforms the subconscious into vivid terrain, where memory and identity take physical form.

The exhibition's abstract works visualize the psyche as an evolving landscape, translating feelings into movement and color. These imagined interiors reflect the continuous process of transformation, tracing a journey from darkness toward light, uncertainty toward healing. Alongside these works, autobiographical pieces draw from personal memories and lived experience, weaving together fragments of identity into deeply intimate narratives.

Known for balancing whimsy with the macabre, Groome approaches each work through a distinctly feminine perspective, embracing empathy and connection as acts of restoration. Her work invites viewers to recognize their own internal landscapes within hers, offering space for reflection and catharsis.

Rather than depicting a physical place, Internal Garden cultivates an emotional one - a living, growing sanctuary where the complexities of the human experience are acknowledged and ultimately allowed to bloom.
