MICHELE BONDURANT

Michele BonDurant, a Dayton, Ohio-based collage artist with a BFA from Wright State University, stands out for her unique artistic process. BonDurant creates hand-painted paper collages. Her method involves applying multiple layers of paint to paper and then using scissors to cut and glue. This transformative process breathes life into the ordinary and familiar as she experiments with layering, shadows, color, patterns, and subtle nuances of light and form.

BonDurant’s works have been exhibited nationally and internationally, including the West End Art Space in Melbourne, Australia, the Prince Street Gallery and First Street Gallery in NYC, The Brand Library, Glendale, California, The Maryland Federation of Art Circle Gallery, The Riffe Gallery and Sarah Gormley Gallery, Columbus, Ohio, Wright State University, Robert and Elaine Stein Gallery, the Contemporary Dayton and Dutoit Gallery, Dayton. She has had residencies at the Chautauqua Institution, Vermont Studio Center, and the Arc of Appalachia Artists in Sanctuary.
