MARLISA DUNN

SANCTUARY

OPENING: March 4, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

ON VIEW: March 5 - 28

In her first solo exhibition at SGG, Marlisa Dunn links transformative memories to an exploration of sanctuaries in natural surroundings. Her landscape paintings are inspired by the energy that surrounds us.

“With collage in mind, I piece together and amplify fleeting moments that are ultimately preserved in each painting. Through color and texture, a complete experience is expressed beyond what I see, including sounds, scents, feelings of a petal or of earth underfoot, wind, and temperature, as well as my physical state.”

Marlisa is self-taught, and her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in museums, galleries, and art centers, including the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art in Wisconsin, the Richard M. Ross Art Museum in Delaware, Ohio, the Springfield Museum of Art in Ohio, the O’Hanlon Center for the Arts in Mill Valley, California, and the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
