MARLISA DUNN
Cleveland-based artist Marlisa Dunn’s work links transformative memories to an exploration of sanctuaries in natural surroundings. Her landscapes are inspired by the energy that surrounds us, and she paints with collage in mind - by piecing together and amplifying fleeting moments that are ultimately preserved through the painting. Through color and texture, she aims to express a complete experience beyond what she sees, including sounds, scents, feelings of a petal or of earth underfoot, wind, and temperature, as well as her physical state.
Marlisa is self-taught, and her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in museums, galleries, and art centers, including the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art in Wisconsin, the Richard M. Ross Art Museum in Delaware, Ohio, the Springfield Museum of Art in Ohio, the O’Hanlon Center for the Arts in Mill Valley, California, and the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
Marlisa Dunn is currently showing work in Grounds For Departure at Masur Museum of Art in Monroe, Louisiana.
